WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 4 HARRIERS FANS TEAM 3
Saturday 12th June 2010

After a break of a month the KHIST fans team were back in action with the short trip to Oldbury to take on a newly formed 'Wolves' Supporters Team. Despite many regulars missing due to holiday/cricket committments manager Connolly was able to field a 17 man squad. Debutants Saul Malpass, Jamie Hyde and Macca Hyde all  started on the bench hoping to make a good impression.

Despite a decent warm up the visitors looked like they had never met each other and were on the back foot for much of the first half. The Wolves were dominant in the middle of the park and it was only Dave Ackerley in goal that kept the scores level. However soon the inevitable happened and Kiddy conceded a soft goal after poor defending. Wolves grew in confidence and soon the second and third goal followed as Harriers struggled all over the pitch.

After a few words at half time and the introduction of subs the Harriers hoped to at least test the young Wolves side. However yet again terrible defending allowed the impressive Wolves midfielder to run almost the length of the pitch before finishing in style. At the this point with a heavy defeat on the cards Kiddy finally got themselves into the game. Saul Malpass on his debut picked up the ball on the edge of the area before finding the bottom corner.

A combination of Wolves complacency and improved Harriers workrate resulted in two more goals both from Andy Gray towards the end of the game but it was too little too late to give the scoreline a flattering look. All three debutants had good games with Dave Ackerley just about winning man of the match for his many saves in goal.

It was a decent game against a young side with plenty of ability however a very poor start left Harriers with too much to do. Numerous excuses were banded about such as players missing and lack of match practice but in truth until the team start defending better it will always be a struggle conceding 3 or more most games.
