WEST BROM SUPPORTERS 4 HARRIERS FANS TEAM 1 Saturday 8th March 2008 (a)
The Harriers supporters team suffered their third defeat of the season against local neighbours West Bromwich Albion on saturday. With the Grays supporters team unable to raise a team the KHIST side travelled to Oldbury to take on the Albion before making it back in time to watch another Harriers victory.
The Harriers made a poor start to the game and within 15 minutes found themselves two goals down to a very good Albion side. In very windy conditions both sides tried to play football but it was the Albion who added another to lead three nil at the break. The KHIST side took the pitch at the start of the second half determined to give a better account of themselves against strong opponents. The Albion made a few changes and the second half was a more even contest with Dave Pountney pulling a goal back with debutant Marc Vaughan putting in a man of the match performance in the centre of midfield. Towards the end though Albion scored direct from a free kick to kill the game as a contest and give the Albion a deserved four one victory.
Consecutive defeats for the supporters side then who will hope to get back to winning ways at Exeter in a couple of weeks. It was a decent second half performance against the best side played this season and the Harriers will hope to get revenge later in the season when the Albion travel to Kidderminster.
