HARRIERS FANS TEAM 4 STAFFORD RANGERS 1
Saturday 6th November 2010

With Harriers already out of the FA Cup the KHIST fans team took advantage of yet another free Saturday to host the Stafford Rangers supporters team. With Manager Mark Conolly away on a scouting mission in Cornwall (well thats what he told us!) it was left for Dave Pountney to pick from a healthy 18 man squad with Brett Caufield kindly agreeing to guest for our visitors in goal.

KHIST got off to a flying start as Ryan Cooper finished past the stranded Caufield in goal after just 90 seconds, his third goal in just two games. However the Staffordshire side weren't going to roll over and came back into the game. With Ian Danby dominant at the back and Sean Merryweather controlling things in midfield it was no suprise when after 20 minutes Harriers doubled their lead when Nathan Fox scored from close range.

After the first host of changes after 30 minutes the visitors took advantage and enjoyed their best period of the game forcing a host of corners but Harriers held firm to enter the break two goals to the good.

With Rangers suffering from injuries and tiredness it was expected that Kiddy would enjoy a comfortable second half. However complacency and poor passing allowed Stafford back into the game and grabbed a deserved goal with a fine finish.

This spurred KHIST back into action and after Sean Merryweather ran almost the length of the pitch, leaving defender Mark Young in his wake, he teed up Nathan Fox who grabbed his second of the game. Towards the end of the game John Wenham grabbed a fourth as he scored with Harriers appealing for a penalty.

A lacklustre performance by the Harriers but another win. Credit must go to Rangers who travelled over despite being below strength and man of the match awarded to Brett Caufield who agreed to play for Stafford in goal and had an excellent game. Next week Harriers travel to Histon where they will meet the Ipswich Town Supporters team in Cambridge.

Man of the Match - Brett Caufield

Scorers - Nathan Fox 2, Ryan Cooper and John Wenham
