HARRIERS FANS TEAM 0 PRESTON 'B' SUPPORTERS TEAM 2
Saturday 25th April 2009 @ Cookley Playing Fields

A youthful looking Kidderminster Harriers were beaten by an Excellent Preston Fans team for the second time this season.

After a later kick-off time of 12.00pm to accommodate Preston’s visit to Birmingham City, the Harriers were soon under pressure. Defending against the wind and very strong opponents, the hosts found it difficult to find an outlet and where on the back foot for most of the first half. The visitors took a deserved lead on the half hour mark after a long ball wasn’t dealt with and the on rushing forward got in between keeper and defender to slot home to make it 1-0.

The Harriers though put all recent disappointing performances behind them a really gave it a go, being under the cosh seemed to bring a new dimension to the 19 man squad and the team spirit seemed to improve, however an equaliser proved elusive and the closest Harriers came was when Dave Greaves volleyed wide after some good work from Dave Goode on the left wing.

The second half saw the game even itself out as both teams gave nothing away. It was starting to look like 1 goal might just win it until the Harriers started to push forward looking for the equaliser leaving the defence exposed and sure enough the second goal from Preston killed the game off  after a counter attack from a Harriers set piece.

And that’s how the game ended - 2-0 to a very good Preston side. Loosing at home 2-0 is nothing to be ashamed of as the performance and the team spirit was once again top class, everybody enjoyed themselves and gave it 100% in the name of fans team football.
