DROYLSDEN SUPPORTERS TEAM 3 HARRIERS FANS TEAM 3
Saturday 26th January 2008 (a)

The Harriers supporters side continued their recent good run with a hard fought draw in Manchester. An impressive seventeen man squad arrived at Droylsden not sure what to expect against new opponents at the smart Wright Robinson College on artificial grass. With the January transfer market open the Harriers handed debuts to three players making it 32 different players this season.

A late kick off enabled a longer than normal Williams warm up and this seemed to work as a well worked move resulted in top scorer David Greaves opening the scoring with his head. Just before half time though the hosts levelled with the Droylsden forward lobbing the stranded Pountney in goal.

With the wind behind their backs in the second half the Harriers opened up a 3-1 lead. David Greaves caused chaos in the home defence resulting in him being brought down by the keeper, Ollie Sewell despatched the penalty in style. Then veteran Dave Williams found himself free on the edge of the box and much to everybody's suprise beat the keeper with an accurate shot to open up a two goal lead.

Unfortunatley though the hosts soon pulled one back so set up a tense finale and then deservedly grabbed the equaliser with a few minutes to go after a scramble in the box. There was still time though for Ed Dursley to grab the headlines in stoppage time but somehow managed to clear the bar with the goal at his mercy.

The Harriers were left dissapointed to let a two goal lead slip but in the end a draw was a fair result in a hard fought game against newly formed opponents.
