HARRIERS FANS TEAM 2 WEST BROM SUPPORTERS 8
Saturday 22nd November 2008 (h) @ Cookley playing fields

The KHIST fans team suffered another home defeat at the weekend to an impressive West Brom supporters side. Despite being beaten twice by Albion last season manager Dave Pountney was hopeful of at least giving our visitors a tough game.

The Harriers got off to a perfect start with Lewis Pountney taking on the Baggies defence before squaring the ball to Mark Young who finished in style to give Harriers the lead. This spurred Albion into life though with poor defending allowing the equaliser. The Baggies then took the lead after the Harriers defence gave the West Brom forward far too much time and space on the ball. As the half wore on the Albion started to take hold of the game pinning Harriers back in their own half with only poor finishing keeping the score at 2-1.

At the start of the second half both sides made changes and Harriers once again started brightly and after breaking clear Dave Pountney was brought down in the box by Mark Currie. Pountney stepped up to take the kick and proceeded to send the ball wide of the right hand post to the dismay of his team mates. This proved to be the turning point as Albion soon scored again to take a commanding lead.

During the last half an hour Albion played some good football with their passing and movement causing all sorts of problems for the Harriers defence. A fourth and fifth goal soon followed which finished the game as a contest and a young Harriers side lost their discipline with heads going down. Lewis Pountney scored a late consolation following good work by Pete Lewis but it was all to late and could not stop the Harriers going down to a heavy defeat.

It was a dissapointing morning then for the fans team but the team will look to get back to winning ways at the AFC Wimbledon supporters on the 20th December. There is no shame losing to one of the strongest supporters sides in the country who will beat most sides comfortably.
