Saturday 19th June 2010 |
With the players meeting at Aggborough for 9-15 we made the short journey back to Oldbury for the second time in 2 weeks. With Dave Goode picking the side the game got underway.
Boing started the better side as they were banging on the door. But a solid display for Ian Danby at the heart of the defence it was not easy. Boing were then rewarded a controversal penalty as their forward seemed to strike the ball at the hand of Danby which was succesfully converted. Boing were threatening the goal again in a number of chances, the stand in goal keeper Mark Young dealt well with. Half time and the score was 1-0 to Boing F.C and everybody was upbeat and optimistic that we were playing well.
Second half got underway and Boing attacking again with a through ball that caught the Harriers defence out of sorts and was scored by Boings centre forward on the half volley for a good finish. Harriers pressed on as the middle of the park was starting to open up. Goode and Fox leading the charging comeback. A third goal was scored from a corner as defender Ian Danby headed the ball into his own net and soon folowed with a comment ‘’What f*****g day’’.
Harriers were still optimistic and continued to play some nice football at times. With Boing making changes they scored a fourth goal and another penalty as Ollie’’ not at the races’’ Sewell brought down the striker who succesfully converted the penalty. Harriers were soon rewarded fot the passion and fight as Merryweather was tackled from behind in the penalty area to convert yet another penalty. The third of the game.
Harriers lost 4-1 in a good sprited game which saw lots of laughs and banter between players. The man of the match reward was given to Mark Young (may i add as im doing the match report WORLD CLASS SAVES) WELL PLAYED LADS!!.
