HARRIERS FANS TEAM AT AGGBOROUGH STADIUM
Saturday 1st May 2010

It was an eventful day at Aggborough Stadium on Saturday as the KHIST fans team had the honour of gracing the hallowed turf. A total of 54 players had been used during the season enabling the squad to be split into three seperate sides to take on our visitors, plus a few very special guest players!

HARRIERS FANS TEAM 3 TRANMERE ROVERS 5

The first game kicked off in glorious sunshine and confidence was high as the KHIST side included a number of 'guest' players. Appearing for the team were first team manager - Steve Burr, scout - Andy Fearn, physio - Gavin Crowe and first team players Marcus Bignot and John Finnegan.

It was the Harriers who started strongly with our visitors giving KHIST far too much time and space and it was not too long before the first goal arrived as Dave Greaves scored from the penalty spot. It was soon two as Jai Stampe scored with a fine header. At this point Harriers were in full control with Gavin Crowe solid at the back and John Finnegan using all his experiance in the middle of the park.

However Tranmere pulled a goal back before half time and lost 'veteran' Steve Burr to injury and our visitors were back in the game. The visitors started the seconf half strongly and were soon leading after a couple of quick goals.

The constant squad rotation of the 18 man squad had a negative effect in the second half and Tranmere  increased their lead with man of the match Dani Reed scoring his fourth of the game. Good work on the right by Marcus Bignot saw John Finnegam score with a fine left foot finish.

An enjoyable game which despite being in control somehow managed to lose despite the best efforts of our guest players.

Team - Luke Mansell, Mark Connolly, Simon Clarke, Jon Smith, Pete Lewis, Mark Young, Alex Withers, James Wasko, Scott Mason, Dave Greaves, Tom Duffield, Ash Jarvis, Jai Stampe, Steve Burr, Andy Fearn, Marcus Bignot, Gavin Crowe and John Finnegan.

Scorers - Dave Greaves, Jai Stampe and John Finnegan.

HARRIERS FANS TEAM 4 PRESTON NORTH END 'B' 4

The second fans team lined up with the living legend, Paul 'Ocker' Davies who's fitness but most of the team to shame. The game acted as the first of a double header as Harriers head to Deepdale next week to take on Preston.

Once again Harriers started strongly as Preston gave Kiddy far too much time and space. Marc Vaughan and Sean Merryweather from the penalty spot gave the KHIST side a commanding lead.

Credit to Preston though who showed great determination and skill to come back into the game with a goal before the lead was once again increased through Andy Gray. More defensive frailties surfaced though and our visitors came from behind to take a 4-3 lead.

With only a couple of weeks left up popped man of the match Dave Goode who volleyed in to give Harriers a deserved draw. A very entertaining game played in a great spirit.

Team - Brett Caufield, Richard Millington, Chris Lacey, Ollie Sewell, Dave Williams, Andy Powell, Jono Smith, Dave Connolly, Dave Goode, Sean Merryweather, Simon Jarrasinsku, Marc Vaughan, Joe Loveridge, Andrew Gray and Paul Davies

Scorers - Sean Merryweather, Dave Goode, Andrew Gray and Marc Vaughan

HARRIERS FANS TEAM 5 AFC HALIFAX 0

The final fans game took place against our old adversaries from Halifax. The KHIST side had the honour  to include first team player - Dean Bennett and former players Adie Smith and John Williams.

Harriers started confidently with Dean Bennett dominant in Midfield and Adie Smith repelling all attacks. The first goal soon came through Lewis Pountney as his scuffed shot found the back of the net. Morgan Nock and the sprightly John Williams added to the lead.

After previous games though anything could still happen with the fans team looking for their first win at Aggborough Stadium. Withdrawels at half time of Adie Smith and John Williams made it a much even contest but further goals by Dean Bennett and Jed Duffield gave the Harriers a fine win.

Team - Dave Ackerley, Adam Smith, Tim Price, Ian Danby, Mike Peplow, Lewis Pountney, Ben Grazier, Adam Matthews, Tom Sharland, Alex Owen, Andrew Coffield, Morgan Nock, David Pountney, Jed Duffield, Richard Hall, Dean Bennett, Adie Smith and John Williams.

Scorers - Lewis Pountney, John Williams, Morgan Nock, Jed Duffield and Dean Bennett
